Shotz launches new vitamin drink
Shotz Products is launching their first vitamin drink in the UK market. Shotz is an daily vitamin drink, providing a complete vitamin dose in single, healthy, liquid serving. Shotz will be opening a completely new and currently uncontensted segment of the drinks market. It will be available in the UK at selected retail outlets and coffee shops from September 2008. ISRI helped Shotz in the very early days, working with the Board to develop the positioning, pricing, and launch strategy behind this breakthrough product from the executive teams who launced Slimfast, Potnoodle, and U-Switch.

ISRI Leads Aviation Safety Effort
Insight SRI is leading an international effort to raise safety awareness in civil aviation. Loose debris on airfields (called FOD, or ‘foreign object debris’) is causing damage to aircraft engines and tires, driving an estimated US$12Bn pa of costs worldwide. More importantly, when on the runway this debris is potentially as hazardous as any runway incursion (a vehicle or aircraft on the runway when it shouldn’t be). Insight SRI is working internationally with a number of airport operations managers, airlines, and international safety organisations to apply a number of new detection technologies to solve this problem.

ISRI Finds Major Opportunity for Airline Cost Reduction
Insight SRI publishes a ‘world first’ paper on the economic cost of foreign object debris (FOD) to commercial airlines. FOD, lose deris on the runway that can damage engines, puncture tyres, and cause delays turns out to be one of the largest untallied categories for airline operating costs, with an annual indsutry cost in excess of US$12Bn.

Noisemask and Noisetech sold
Noisemask was a software solution for personal data privacy, applying the techniques of electronic countermeasures, jamming, and signal spoofing to internet search. This was a negatively disruptive technology in that it had little earning potential in its own right, but was a potential threat to the revenue streams and stock market valuations of search giants like Google, Yahoo!, AOL, and others. The product moved from conception to completed sale in less than four months.

Iain McCreary accepts role as Chief Executive of venture capital firm Synergis Technologies. Interim posting, ended in August 2006. According to an analyst at Library House, at 35 this makes Iain the youngest ever CEO of a registered UK venture capital firm.

HBL Limited receives £1M in IP from from a leading UK technology firm. The IP will help HBL to develop its new wideband wireless tracking solution.

Insight SRI initiates formation of high-tech start up HBL Ltd. HBL will embed an ultra-wideband tracking technology in golf-balls, allowing for the realtime, three dimensional, centimetre accurate tracking of balls in-flight and on the ground. Starting with driving ranges, where the technology should double the revenue and triple the profits of any driving range, HBL will then expand to the wider golf markets, followed by data services for television and gaming.
